The story revolves a boy named Masamune Asuka who is a top kendo, smart in his studies, very good looking and popular among his girl classmates. However, he actually harbors a secret - he loves shoujo manga, collecting cute girly things, sews like a pro, and cooks like a chef. Thus “Oto-men” (spoof of otome - 乙女).
As a child, he loved collecting and playing with cute things. Unfortunately, one day, his father declared to his mother that he really wanted to be “female” and left. As a result, his mother was traumatized by that revelation and fell sick. She tells Asuka that he is a boy, so he must act like one. After that, all his “girly” posessions were burned and he was forced to act manly.
Now in high school, he saves a schoolmate, Miyakozuka Ryou, from some bullies and immediate falls in love with her. Shoujo-style. With the sparkles. This new emotion in him revives his desire to surround himself with all the girly cute stuff, and he struggles with it because of the promise to his mother.
Along with the ride is Tachibana Juuta, a friend who knows Asuka’s secret and also has one of his own. It’s revealed at the end of chapter 1 and is a great plot twist so I won’t reveal it!
Overall, it’s a really cute series, and quite hilarious at times. Highly recommended for shoujo fans.

The book is in like new condition, only read once. It’s also first print and comes with the obi-strip. The Betsuhana Happy Comic Passport 07/01 pamphlet is also included.
